A friend of ours used to think that “hors d’oevres” was pronounced “hours of devours”. It’s one of those kid mistakes, we think, that makes a whole lot of sense. Hours of devours indeed. Sign us up.
We’ve been watching cooking shows since The Frugal Gourmet was on Saturday mornings and before anyone ever used the word Bam! other than when discussing the Flintstones. We’ve grown from foodies who enjoyed San Francisco’s great restaurants of the late 1990s to pretty good cookers who amped up our own time in the kitchen when we moved and found our suburban SoCal community lacking in great cuisine.
We love to hang out in the kitchen, collect wine, read cook books and chef biographies. We love Julia Child and count meeting her as a major day in our lives. We want to write about restaurants, dishes, food trends, restaurants worth traveling to, new cocktails, articles we like, Food Network and Top Chef gossip, gadgets we love and those we don’t, teaching our kids to cook — you name it.
If you love food, you’ve found the right place.
